Internal Injury Management Services
AHC provides internal injury management services under the NSW Workers Compensation scheme and are designed to support injured workers in their recovery and facilitate a safe return to work. The key functions of internal injury management consultants (IMCs) include:
Assessment and Coordination:
IMCs assess the worker's medical condition, review rehabilitation reports, and coordinate with treating doctors, employers, and other health professionals to develop a comprehensive injury management plan.
Facilitating Communication:
They act as intermediaries between the worker, employer, insurer, and healthcare providers to ensure clear communication and understanding of the worker's capacity and recovery progress.
Overcoming Barriers:
IMCs identify and address barriers to recovery and return to work, such as workplace modifications or additional support needed and provide recommendations to overcome barriers.
Monitoring Progress:
Monitoring the worker's recovery and adjusting the injury management plan as needed to ensure it remains effective and supportive.
Providing Guidance:
IMCs offer guidance on the NSW Workers Compensation system, empowering workers to understand their rights and responsibilities, and answering any questions they may have throughout.
